Welcome to www.maps.barnet.gov.uk

Introduction:
Barnet is one of the largest boroughs in London, situated to the North West of the City, bordering on Hertfordshire.

This site contains detailed interactive maps of the borough, with a large amount and variety of additional information. It works best with a Broadband internet connection although it will work with a dialup modem, the initial download may take a few minutes.

double click to open the Amenities and Services Map. If you can't view the map follow the instructions and download the free viewer software

The larger the screen resolution you have the better, 1024 x 768 is fine. 800 x 600 will work but the maps will not be as easy to read.

The site is a Geographic Information System (GIS) where you can zoom in to the maps, search for streets, individual properties and view planning application details from the site as well as access a wide range of local information. (Read more: What is a GIS?)  The site is aimed at property professionals and those with an interest in Planning information, Census Data and Barnet’s geography as a whole.

The system uses your standard web browser, but to get to the detail and the functions, you need to add some software to your browser. The software you need depends on your type of browser and operating system. You get the FREE software for all browser and operating systems from the trusted Autodesk website here:-

Free Viewer Software Download

For Windows and Internet Explorer users, it is a 3.6Mb download, but once it is installed (a once only requirement) it is worth it !!

Once you have downloaded and installed the software click here Using the system

Or if you have already set up your system
